Once again, Tesla Offering Massive Discount for those willing to take delivery of their Tesla Model 3 or Model Y in December before the year’s end in Canada. This time they’re offering a $5000 discount and 10,000 Supercharger credits that will stay active for 24 months.
You can check the Tesla website against your postal code to see what currently available cars can be delivered before the end of the year. This is a great deal for those that I’ve been waiting to purchase their first Tesla, and have waited to see if there would be any government credits or rebates available in the new year.
Over the past several years, Tesla has seemed to offer some form of a discount on purchasing your Tesla model three or some added functionality at a discount to prop up their financial numbers and delivery stops for that year. It’s not surprising that they offered this massive discount at this time, with the increase in interest rates, and the lower demand in purchasing a new car.
Tesla Offering Massive Discount in Canada
Between December 15 and December 31, 2022, Tesla offers free Supercharging credits to customers who deliver a new Tesla vehicle.
These credits, which allow up to 10,000 kilometers of driving, will be credited to your Tesla Account in January 2023 and will be valid for two years from the delivery date.
Please note that Supercharging credits are tied to your Tesla account and cannot be transferred to another vehicle or person in the event of an ownership transfer.
This promotion is not applicable to used vehicles and Tesla is not responsible if your vehicle delivery does not occur before December 31, 2022.
Federal & Provincial Rebates or Credits
I purchased my first Tesla Model 3 back in December 2020. At that time, the 2021 standard range plus model three qualified for the $5000 federal credit and the $2500 provincial credit. In 2021 Tesla had several price increases that prevented the Model 3 from getting federal and provincial credits. Tesla does not qualify for federal or provincial credits or rebates.
Final Thoughts: Should You Buy Now or Wait?
The $5000 discount offered by Tesla right now, is a great incentive for those looking to get into a Tesla Model 3 or Model Y. The only question is, what new features will be coming in the next few months that would be worth waiting for?
It is been rumored that there are some cosmetic panel changes coming to the Model 3 and the main computer and cameras are being upgraded. Unlike other manufacturers, Tesla always updates their cars and doesn’t wait for the next year to offer new features.
