I had an amazing time at the grand opening of Tesla’s brand-new Service & Delivery Centre in Port Coquitlam on Saturday, August 23. Not only was the event a blast—with live music, tasty treats, and fun giveaways—but the facility itself is truly something to behold.
Tesla officially launched a sprawling 60,000‑square‑foot sales, service, and delivery centre at 1028 Nicola Avenue in Port Coquitlam—currently their largest facility in the Lower Mainland.
Built on approximately 7.5 acres, the centre includes around 650 parking spots and functions as an important distribution hub for Tesla vehicles and parts across the region. In fact, it’s expected to handle more than 75% of Tesla’s Canadian imports, marking a significant expansion in the company’s delivery and servicing capabilities.
City council had approved the centre back in September 2023, citing its potential to bring about 80 good-paying local jobs and transform a long-unused site into a thriving commercial and service hub.
Tesla North further confirms that this facility is the largest of its kind in Western Canada—a proud milestone for the region.
My First-Person Experience at the Grand Opening
Walking into the grand opening was electric. The place was buzzing with people—Tesla owners, curious neighbors, potential buyers, and EV fans all mingled in this vibrant atmosphere.
I dived right into it. There were drive demos where attendees could test-drive Tesla’s models—yes, I even tried one myself (and it was thrilling!). The DJ had tunes pumping, giving the whole space a lively, community fair vibe.
Then there were the refreshments—just as I expected: hotdogs, drink stations, and yes… ice cream bars to top it all off. Perfect on a sunny Saturday afternoon.
For some good-natured fun, games were set up offering cool Tesla-themed prizes: hats, water bottles, stickers, notepads—you name it. I tried my luck and watched others win some Tesla swag.
The crowd was good-humored and welcoming—I ended up chatting with fellow attendees and Tesla staff. It really felt like a community outing that brought together owners, enthusiasts, and curious locals.
The Facility Itself: Impressive and Future-Ready
Inside, the centre is vast—open-concept with tons of room for service bays, parts, deliveries, and possibly vehicle preparation spaces. It really struck me how roomy and modern it all looked—this is clearly built to scale.
What stands out is that this isn’t just a repair shop. It’s a flagship delivery hub designed to streamline operations—servicing, storing, and preparing tens of vehicles per day. In fact, development manager Jordan Grubner had mentioned expectations of about 40 car deliveries a day at full operation.
Positioned between Costco and Canadian Tire, just off Lougheed Highway, the centre’s location seems strategic too—eliminating congestion and making access easy for both deliveries and customers.
Final Thoughts — A Great Day, A Great Future
Looking forward to picking up my new 2026 Tesla Model Y Long Range Juniper in October/November at this location.
All in all, I had a fantastic experience—great food, fun games, a friendly crowd, and a peek at Tesla’s future in our region. The facility itself is vast, well-designed, and built with serious capacity in mind.
If you’re a Tesla owner or just curious about EVs, I’d definitely recommend stopping by. It feels like Tesla is planting deep roots here, creating a real hub for future growth across British Columbia—and I’m excited to see how it all unfolds.
Let me know if you’d like any follow-up, photos from the event, or more on the services offered at the centre!
